NSP sent representatives for the Mendaki Youth Seminar on Saturday 17 Sep 2011 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. Dr Maliki Osman was the Guest of Honour. Held at POD, 16th Level of National Library, it was a golden opportunity to network as the participants of different ages and races came from various backgrounds with diverse experiences.

NSP to Send Representatives to Mendaki Youth Seminar 2011

NSP Malay Bureau will be present in the Youth Seminar.

The Imagining Youth Seminar on 17th September 2011 is part of the engagement process leading up to the Youth Symposium, which will be held in 2012. The seminar aims to address issues of responsibility, communication and community ownership, and will be a platform for various stakeholders to address ideas, issues and concerns towards developing a youth charter for the community.

The Imagining Youth Seminar hopes to address:

. Challenges faced by youth and opportunities for youth development.

. To identify our community’s core standards and expectations on youth for the convergence of shared goals among members of our community.

. To discuss on our community’s commitment towards embracing expressions of our youth and enhancing youth’s development.

. For our community to develop surplus of resources in various aspects for future generations to persist the mission of nation building.

The seminar will adopt the format of presentations by academics, practitioners, and youth with focus group discussions. Participations from various stakeholders of our community including the younger generation are key to gather as many voices from our community in the formulation of the youth charter.
